To the White House:  Policy on Israel must change

I am writing to express in the strongest possible terms my feeling of the
mounting extremity of America's - and the world's - insecurity.

America's moral drift away from both the Constitution's ideals and the
biblical Golden Rule contributes tremendously to this insecurity.

One of the worst examples of America's moral degradation is its uncritical
financial, military and political support for the crimes of Israel.

In the preservation of all that is holy, in the sanctity of the hallowed and
shining halls of Justice, our support for Israel's Pogrom against the
Palestinian People ought to end.

White House policy seems to confuse the sanctity of personal faith in the
Jewish man of Peace - Jesus Christ - with the desperate aims and ethnic
cleansing activities of some Zionist Jews.

Let us get the facts straight with language that is as plain as possible:

The million and a half citizens of Gaza have been suffering under an Israeli
military siege for 16 months now.

Half of Gaza's inhabitants are children.

These hundreds of thousands of civilians had been suffering under
a brutal military occupation for many years before that.

The children in Gaza, all seven-hundred and fifty-thousand of them,
suffer severe effects of malnutrition because they have been denied
their liberty to breath free.  To dream.  To live.  To eat.  Their bodies, their
physical growth, is stunted.

Missing amongst too many of Gaza's children is the will to live.
As a parent, I have to ask you, is there anything more terrifying than that?

In any other place on Earth we would find the White House in support of the
people in their right to defend themselves to secure their freedom.  That is
what I want to believe.  But it may be that my hope in the better angels of
American ideals will
wither even as His Truth marches on, with or without us.

The fact of the matter is that Hamas is the legitimate political and military
representative of the Palestinians.

It was an illegitimate political act to outlaw Hamas and to designate Hamas a
terrorist entity.

Those pathetic and ineffectual rockets being fired from Gaza at Israel are
symbolic acts of self-defense.

Collective punishment against civilians is a crime in law, and it is a moral
crime against humanity.

The citizens of Gaza and the West Bank are the victims of Israel's criminal
actions against them.  Israel is committing state terrorism against all
Palestinians.  The aim of Israel's state terrorism is to encourage as many
Palestinians as possible to give up their homeland to Jews.  What is not
abandoned is gradually, inch by inch, taken by force.

The fact of the matter is that the Palestinians, including Hamas, have had
numerous offers of peace on the table for years.  The Palestinians have an
absolute imperative to defend and free themselves from Israel's tyranny.

Israel has not demonstrated a genuine will to make peace
with the Palestinians.  Peace means giving up the Zionist dream of conquest
-
the Israeli equivalent of Nazi Germany's 'Lebensraum' -
'needing' greater territory for Jewish 'security'.   Many Jews decry
and condemn Israel's Zionist Lebensraum ethnic cleansing  program.

I therefore, with due consideration to the facts and concerns as laid out
above,
do respectfully request that the White House immediately and forthwith
cease to support Israel financially and militarily until such time as Israel [omit
'commits'] forthwith:

Withdraws to pre-1967 borders; strives to live peacefully side by side with
their Palestinian neighbors including in Jerusalem; accepts that East
Jerusalem is the future capital of the Palestinian State; ends the military
siege of Gaza and the occupation of the West Bank; ceases its efforts to
ethnically cleanse the biblical environs of Eretz Israel;

~or~

Offers the Palestinians full Israeli citizenship with full and equal rights in
one nation under God established with a reverent respect for its Semitic
character, henceforth to be known as Greater Israel.

I respectfully request, in sum, as an American citizen, that the White House
cease defending the indefensible and stand on the side of right.

America is uniquely positioned to beat the swords into ploughshares.

I am, most respectfully and sincerely yours,

Diane V. McLoughlin
