Ask tough questions
Re: Sacrifice civil liberties for security, Canadians say,
June 24.
According to the Citizen's alarming headline, apparently all of us
cry: Throw freedom and liberty out the window! We want to feel
safe!
Maybe Canadians would prefer to ask the really hard questions,
such as why did 9/11 happen? What provoked it?
Is there anything we could do to improve conditions conducive
to peace?
I think most Canadians would resoundingly answer yes to these
questions. We are growing increasingly frustrated by this
government's approach to global affairs, such as sacrificing
civil liberties for security at home while sowing division
abroad.
