Responding to the statement by House Majority Leader
Steny H. Hoyer on Israel's aggression against Gaza

Mr. Hoyer has released a statement asserting that Israel
is 'acting in clear self-defense' against Gaza.
This is an outrageous and false representation of the facts
with regard to who is the victim and who is the criminal.
The Palestinian People are suffering a Pogrom against them
perpetrated by Israel.
"This is a stain on what is left of Israeli morality" -

on the siege of Gaza.)
The Palestinian People have a fundamental right to self-defense
as they continue to suffer under Israel's cruel and inhumane occupation.
This fundamental human right is enshrined in International Law.
The leadership should know better in light of American history.
Not for one second did the founders of America accept foreign
occupation from the British King.
From Day One Israel has not had any intention whatsoever of
coming to terms with, or living in peace with the Palestinian People.
Israel's political aim is to ethnically cleanse the indigenous Palestinian
People from their rightful homes.
The occupation of the West Bank and the military siege of the Gaza Strip,
are odious and beyond the pale.
The Gaza Strip has been suffering under a complete military blockade
for sixteen months now. Reports have been trickling out that families
are now scavenging, not just through garbage seeking anything with which
to fill the hungry tummies of the children - but for GRASS.
Half the population of 1.5 million inhabitants of Gaza are children.
The physical growth of the children is stunted.
Psychological assessments find that too many of Gaza's children are
LOSING THE WILL TO LIVE.
UN special rapporteur Richard Falk: "This is an increasingly precarious
condition. A recent study reports that 46 percent of all Gaza's children
suffer from acute anemia.
There are reports that the sonic booms associated with Israeli overflights
have caused widespread deafness, especially among children.
Gaza's children need thousands of hearing aids.
Malnutrition is extremely high in a number of different dimensions
and affects 75 percent of Gazans.
There are widespread mental disorders, especially among young people
without the will to live.
Over 50 percent of Gaza's children under the age of 12 have been found
to have no will to live." (Full report, here.)
These are crimes against humanity of epic proportions.
The rockets of Gaza are symbolic acts of self-defense. Gaza is
completely at the mercy of the merciless Israeli military machine.
I demand that the U.S. government immediately and forthwith cut off
all aid financial, military and political until such time as Israel:
Abides by all international covenants and ceases the ethnic cleansing
of the Palestinian People; withdraws to pre-1967 borders; lifts the
military siege of Gaza;, accepts and abides by U.N. Resolutions calling
for the establishment of East Jerusalem as the future capital of the
Palestinian People
~ or ~
Alternatively, quits the Israeli-imposed Apartheid regime and
gives full Israeli citizenship to the Palestinian People and quits its racist
and genocidal program.
